External Examiners
The University is responsible for the quality of education it provides and for the academic standards of its awards. The University appoints External Examiners, on the basis of nominations received from Schools, to help staff maintain nationally (and internationally) comparable standards in undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research degree programmes.
The Taught Programme Enhancement team in the central Teaching and Learning Delivery office (TLD) oversees the processes for nominating, appointing, and circulating the reports of External Examiners for undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.
Faculty Graduate Officers oversee the same processes for External Examiners for research degree programmes.
