Manchester Gold
Manchester Gold is a University of Manchester (UoM) staff mentoring scheme, organised by the Talent Development Team that has been running since 2010 and thousands of colleagues have taken part. It is open to UoM colleagues at all levels and in any type of role including Teaching, Research, Professional Services, Technical etc.
The scheme supports career development by connecting the Mentee applicant with a volunteer Mentor who has greater skills or experience relevant to their development goals. You can apply to be a Mentor, Mentee or both.
Find out more about being a Mentor here, or sign up for one of our information sessions. There's more information on what you can expect as a Mentee too on this page.

All applications received by 2nd May 2025 will be reviewed for a suitable match and receive communication by the end of May 2025. We endeavour to match all applicants, but this can't be guaranteed as it's dependent upon the volumne and compatibility of Mentor and Mentee applicants.
Following a successful match, you will be supported at the start, and throughout your 9-10 month mentoring relationship. First time Mentees and Mentors join the scheme every year and there are events, training and resources available to support all participants.
