Headspace
The University of Manchester Students’ Union has recently established a partnership with Headspace. Find a happier, healthier you with a free subscription to Headspace. Research shows that resilience helps us bounce back from difficult times. Drift off to sleep with a sleep meditation, wind downs and sleepcasts.

eLearning resources
Details of eLearning resources available to students.
We know that the support students might need will change from time to time. The support wheel outlines different levels of need and the associated support that can be access. To help students decide the nature and level of help required please look at the Student Support wheel.
The Understanding Consent course will make students more aware of what consent is and how consent applies to their lives and relationships. It will also provide more awareness of the support that is available at The University of Manchester and in the city of Manchester.
There are a number of courses specifically for students start their degrees.
- It's normal to feel anxious when starting university. Whether students are nervous about leaving home and coming to a new city or apprehensive about making new friends, Starting university will help students to feel at home.
- Buiding confidence helps students to develop it, show how university life can positively impact confidence and tried and tested strategies for building their own confidence.
- A postgraduate research degree is different from other kinds of degrees the student may have completed already, and beginning one can therefore feel quite daunting. The Starting post-graduate research course give students advice on starting their research.
The University of Manchester library has developed a number of My Learning Essentials courses.
- Dealing with procrastination will give students advice on how to get on with tasks.
- Understanding the procrastination cycle builds on the previous course, going into greater detail on why procrastination happens.
- Growth mindset shows students how reframing their approach to challenges can have a positive impact on their lives.
The JISC Digital capabilities guide will provide resources to develop students digital skills.
Workshops available for students
