Sickness during pregnancy

The University's Mitigating Circumstances Policy clearly states that pregnancy is not, in itself, considered to be an illness. A student is not eligible for mitigation purely on the basis of being pregnant.

However, related events or illnesses may be eligible for mitigation and should be considered on an individual basis under the terms of the Mitigating Circumstances policy.

If a student is unable to attend studies due to illness, they should contact their Programme Director, Personal Tutor, Academic Advisor, Student Support Officer or Programme Administrator.

Similarly, if the illness prevents a student from completing a set assignment or examination, they should consult the relevant staff member as soon as possible.
