People and structures
Leaders and colleagues from the relevant teams worked with the Student Experience Programme to develop new roles and structures. Overall the number of roles slightly increased and there was an upwards shift in grades, in response to increasing demands on our time and services.
In three cohorts between 2019 and 2023, colleagues were matched into roles in new structures across:
- Teaching, learning and student experience teams in Schools and Faculties
- Student marketing and recruitment
- Applications and admissions
- Campus Life
- Student and academic services
- PGR PS staff
- Widening participation team
- Timetabling team
Together with new processes and technology, these new roles and structures will deliver:
- More services available online, so students can self-serve and easily access them whenever needed.
- Greater consistency in services across Faculties and Schools.
- More consistent support for academic staff.
- Easier for PS staff to move throughout the organisation and develop in their careers.
- Consistent processes that are understood and shared, so colleagues can support each other and provide cover if needed.
- Teams that can more easily respond to changes in demand or other conditions.
- More effective ways of working and partnerships, and a clearer overview for other colleagues of how services and activities are managed.
