LabCup
LabCup is a mandatory chemical inventory and laboratory management system used by the University of Manchester.
LabCup is a whole life cycle chemical inventory system which is run through a webpage along with android and apple apps. This allows easy and convenient access to your chemical inventory.
The system works through the use of barcodes on every bottle of chemical which will allow them to be tracked through the building until they are ultimately disposed of or depleted.
LabCup’s equipment inventory and booking system (Asset register) allows complete tracking of equipment and assets. Manage each item of equipment. Schedule future maintenance/calibration/service dates, receive notifications, and keep full historical service logs.
More information on LabCup can be found here - https://www.labcup.net/

Below are the details of the Group Roles and what each one will allow your new user to do. (Please select carefully)- Group Admin: full group access, can also create new users for that group- Group Edit: can add/edit etc. all group inventory- Group Read: Can only search the inventory for that group, cannot editThe Loading Bay (Stores staff)

Adding Equipment to LabCup
For example, gas cylinder regulators are “assets” and shouldn’t be saved in the main inventory as either chemicals/ consumables or tissues.
To add an asset to the database:

Issue:
In a couple of occasions, a device was not recognising barcodes when scanning them onto Labcup.
Cause of problem:
when Labcup is updated, the App store needs to pass on the updates to the devices on which they are installed, and the App store is particularly slow to update iOS devices ( iPads etc.).
Solutions:
1) wait for the next round of automatically updates from the App store or
2) manually update in the device (click username, then “About labcup”, then “check for updates”).
