Discounts on the things that matter most
The University offers you two ways to access a wide range of discounts.
Purple Place - your new Reward and Benefits platform
The launch of Purple Place marks a big step forward in the University’s Reward and Recognition offering. We have partnered with Reward Gateway to provide a central place for the benefits available to eligible members of staff.
Purple Place replaces our previous benefit platform, Vivup. We have been able to improve on, and expand, the offering available to staff through this investment. Through Purple Place members of staff have access to:
- Around 900 national retailers (covering groceries, shopping, travel, family essentials etc.) offering discounts through instant vouchers and reloadable cards, as well as cashback - these can be easily accessed either via the website or SmartSpending™ app (download from Apple or Play Store).
- A new social recognition wall to spread joy. You can send e-cards to thank one another, celebrate success, wish a happy birthday and more.
- A Cycle to Work scheme provide by Halfords and supported by over 800 independent retailers.
- SmartTech™, spread the cost of electronic purchases made through Currys over 6 – 18 months.
It's easy to access Purple Place - go to purpleplace.co.uk and simply click 'Log in with your University IT account'. Once logged in, start cracking open your benefits! You can also access all the great Purple Place discounts on the go by downloading the SmartSpending app on the App Store or Google Play. You must activate your account via the Purple Place website before you are able to access your account via the app.

UniDiscounts
As part of our benefits offering for all staff working at the University, we are pleased to offer a wide range of campus, local and national discounts. Staff are also eligible to sign up for a TOTUM card which provides access to hundreds of online and high street discounts.
Go to the UniDiscounts page to access these discounts. Substantive staff also have access to Purple Place (details above).
