UoM music alumnus and music academic in world première

Free Walter Carroll Lunchtime Concert with Helen Tonge (violin) and Richard Whalley (piano) on Thursday, 2 May (1.10pm) in The Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama.

Former music student Helen Tonge studied violin in the University's music department with Ronald Birks of the Lindsay Quartet. Whilst here, she led the University’s Symphony, Sinfonietta and String orchestras and the New Music Ensemble, and formed the Rivoli String Quartet, with whom she still plays.
During this concert Helen, and lecturer in composition Richard Whalley, will perform the world première of Camden Reeves’ Gorgon’s Head.
Lunchtime concerts are free: there's no need to book, just turn up.
