Tell us how you travel to work
25 Apr 2013
By completing a random online survey before 13 May, you can help the University to calculate the carbon emissions from commuting and build a more complete picture of our overall carbon impact.
In order to calculate our overall carbon footprint, the University is beginning to collect data on our indirect emissions - which are usually the result of purchasing goods and services, business travel and employee commuting, waste disposal, transportation and distribution.
A snapshot survey is now taking place of staff and students to gather information about how we travel to and from the University. The findings will be fed into carbon data statistics for indirect emissions and will provide a valuable baseline from which to develop our Sustainable Travel Plan.
Members of staff, selected at random, are being sent email invitations to take part in the online survey, with the aim of gathering 500 responses. A separate survey of students is also being conducted.
If you receive a targeted email from Andrew Hough, our Sustainable Travel Planner, please take the time (just one or two minutes) to complete the survey. You’ll have the chance to win £50 in Love2shop High Street Vouchers in a prize draw.
The survey will remain open until 5pm on Monday, 13 May and the findings will be published online at:
