University TV Studio goes live
18 Mar 2013
TV and radio broadcasters are now able to conduct interviews live on air from our campus thanks to a new studio facility based in the Division of Communications and Marketing in the John Owens Building.
The high-spec broadcast equipment and studio, which uses cutting edge internet-based technology, has been developed and installed, at no cost to the University, by the University’s Media Relations team and Manchester-based In:Quality Media.
Outlets including The BBC News Channel, World at One on BBC Radio Four and the BBC World Service have all successfully used this facility.
Director of Communications and Marketing Alan Ferns said: “This excellent facility offers the opportunity for our academic staff to contribute live to important national debates without the need to leave the campus. Staff who would like to use the facility or develop their skills as a news or expert commentator should contact their Faculty Media Relations Officer.”
