Camilla cooks her prize-winning pizza
28 Feb 2013
What’s Cooking? competition winner Camilla Rostvik has cooked her successful recipe with the University's Executive Head Chef, Martin Smith.
Camilla spent the morning of 25 February in a cookery session with Martin preparing her Sweet Potato, Red Cabbage and Kale Pizza to go on sale in EATS Restaurant. The pizzas sold out completely and were truly delicious.
Camilla said: "Thank you so much. From a vegan perspective, this is quite moving - I can't believe it’s now becoming mainstream and normal to consider how what we eat affects our world. Thanks to the SCI for putting on such a great competition!"
Martin Smith said: "University Catering are excited to be part of the ‘What’s Cooking?’ Campaign. It promotes the involvement of staff and students in reducing our carbon footprint, and fits in with the University’s catering policy on sustainability, which is high on our agenda."
The competition was organised by the Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI), which wants to encourage everyone to support Meat Free Mondays, to think about the sustainability of the food they eat, and to play their part in reducing carbon emissions associated with meat production.
