Wood Street Mission Easter project
28 Feb 2013
Donate an Easter egg or hamper goodies for families in need by 15 March.
Wood Street Mission, the charity to help families in need, has launched its Easter mission, which aims to give each child a couple of Easter Eggs and each family a food hamper.
The Mission needs a mixture of large and small Easter Eggs – but not very expensive ones so all the children receive the same sort of egg – and non-perishable foods with an expiry date of no earlier than 30 April 2013. Financial contributions are also welcome.
Along with the Easter Eggs, Wood Street Mission give each family a food hamper before the Easter school holidays to help them through the period when their children will not be receiving free school meals. They pack the hampers with a range of everyday items such as tins of meat, fish, vegetables or soups, packets of pasta, rice and cereals and treats such as pudding, sauces or biscuits.
- Donations can be handed in at the Sackville Street Campus (Stores) or staff groups can arrange collection through Muriel Shingler on muriel.shingler@manchester.ac.uk or 0161 306 2523.
- The closing date is Friday, 15 March.
