Would you like to work with sixth formers on a Nuffield Research Project?

Come along to the 2012 Nuffield Celebration on Friday, 23 November to find out more and register by 30 November if you are interested in offering a project under Nuffield Research Placements in 2013.
Nuffield Research Placements (formerly known as Nuffield Bursaries) are looking for University staff who might be interested in providing a Nuffield Research Project in 2013 by hosting a young person for a four to six week project during the summer.
The Research Placements are a fantastic way of working with young people who already have an interest in science and technology; and giving them an insight into the research which goes on within our University.
The Nuffield Foundation is looking to particularly encourage students from schools in difficult social circumstances, and students who do not have a family background of higher education or STEM professions, and will be placing a greater emphasis on working with targeted schools which fulfil widening participation criteria.
With The University of Manchester’s commitment to widening participation and supporting talented young people from local schools to progress onto research intensive universities, we really welcome this move – and look forward to working with you to offer a wide range of Nuffield Research Placements this academic year.

For 2013, due to the changes in the way projects are allocated, Ian Morrison, Regional Coordinator for Nuffield Research Placements, has asked the University to provide him with a comprehensive list of all project providers.

The 2012 Nuffield Celebration
If you are thinking of hosting a student under the Nuffield Research Placements scheme in 2013 or would just like to know what the current crop of sixth form students are capable of academically, come along to the 2012 Nuffield Celebration on Friday, 23 November from 2 pm in the Great Hall, Sackville Street Building.
Students will put their work on display and offer presentations to teams of evaluators who are assessing them for the prestigious 'Crest Gold Award' certificate.
