Join The Manchester Museum Mummy Walk on Halloween
29 Oct 2012
The Museum is working with CityCo and Piccadilly Partnership to bring a Halloween party to Piccadilly Gardens on Wednesday 31 October, in celebration of the opening of the new Ancient Worlds galleries.
The music and art event will take place from 1pm to 5pm and marks the centenary of the first Egypt gallery to be opened at the Museum, and the opening of the new Ancient Worlds exhibition.
The event will feature dance and costume workshops, Egyptian and archaeology objects, ancient Egyptian face painting and will culminate in a twilight mummy walk and parade around Piccadilly Gardens.
The new galleries highlight collections from Manchester and the region, and from ancient civilizations such as Greece, Rome and Egypt; showcasing the best of Manchester Museum’s outstanding archaeology collections.
This is the third collaboration between the Museum, CityCo and Piccadilly Partnership: previous initiatives have brought the Ice Bear Project and spectacular West African-themed We Face Forward Closing Party to the Gardens.
