Tickets still available for Clive Anderson lecture

The former barrister and TV personality will discuss cameras in court
Staff are invited to apply for tickets to this year’s Foundation Lecture, at University Place on Wednesday 24 October.
Clive Anderson will be giving the lecture, entitled “Is it time to have TV cameras in court?”
Tickets are no longer available for the Honorary Degree ceremony, which this year sees degrees being conferred upon:
- Sir Fazle Hasan Abed – Founder and Chairperson of BRAC, a development organisation dedicated to alleviating poverty
- Sir Philip Craven – President of the International Paralympic AssociationProfessor Peter Higgs – physicist after whom the Higgs boson is named – the most sought after particle in modern physics
- Mick Hucknall – singer songwriter and former lead singer of Simply Red
- Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw – mathematician and politician, former employee of our University and Lord Mayor of Manchester (1975-76)
- John Timpson – businessman and owner of the Timpson retail business
The event starts with a drinks reception at 4pm, with the lecture from 4.30pm to 5.45pm.
