University Institute advises Government

The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI www.hcri.ac.uk) has been part of a successful consortia bid to deliver Governance, Social Development, Conflict and Humanitarian Professional Evidence and Applied Knowledge Services (PEAKS) for the Department of International Development (DFID).

Delivery of this strategically important contract will enable HCRI to forge closer links with policy makers, positively influence humanitarian practice across the world, and more broadly meet its goals regarding social responsibility.

The contract will fund a dedicated HCRI Research Fellow to deliver core services for DFID which include topic guides, training and e-learning, structured professional development sessions, helpdesk services and ebulletins.

It will also fund HCRI’s representation on the core services management team for the project.

Professor Tony Redmond, deputy Director of HCRI said:  “ This is a very important step for HCRI that confirms its position as a national and international academic resource in the field of humanitarian response and places it at the heart of policy development.”

•    Institute of Development Studies (IDS) at The University of Sussex
•    Overseas Development Institute (ODI)
