Will Hutton Public Lecture: ‘Is Better Capitalism Possible?’

17 Aug 2012

The Principal of Hertford College, Oxford, speaks on Thursday 6 September (6.15-7.30pm) in Great Hall, Sackville Street Building.

Will Hutton

Will Hutton was previously chief executive of the Work Foundation from 2000 to 2008 and editor in chief of the Observer. He started his career as an equity salesman for a stockbroker before acquiring an MBA at INSEAD.

Will’s status as a leading centre left advocate of stakeholder capitalism and the European model was established in the 1990s: first, in his columns as economics editor of the Guardian; and then, as author of The State We‘re In, a book which captured the mood which led to New Labour’s 1997 electoral victory.

This event is free of charge and open to academics, students and the public. Places are limited, so please book early!
