Charged printing for students is changing

Print – Swipe – Pull (PRINT your document; SWIPE your ID card; PULL off your copy)

Over the summer IT services will be changing the central charged printing system to provide an enhanced service for students, delivering the following improvements:

•             'Pull' printing; meaning they can collect their print job from any printer on the system.

•             Sustainability: Pull printing will reduce the number of unwanted print outs.

•             Increased availability of photocopying and scanning facilities.

Over the next few weeks all printers in the charged service will be replaced by multifunction devices.  When they are swapped over they will continue to work as traditional printers.

Then, in mid-August the charged printing system will switch to offer the ‘Pull’ functionality, at which point photocopying and scanning will also be available. The ePayments interface which allows online card payments and library payments will change on the same day.
