In autumn 2012, to mark the centenary of the first Egypt gallery to be opened at The Manchester Museum, we are opening Ancient Worlds - three new galleries highlighting our collections from Manchester and the region, and from ancient civilizations such as Greece, Rome and Egypt. Meet the conservation team to find out about their work on conserving objects for the new gallery. One activity is using small fragments of pigment on sculpture to recreate the original appearance of some our sculptures. Part of the Festival of British Archaeology.
