Spread the word about Tell Us campaign
03 May 2012
The University is running a 'Tell Us' campaign designed to encourage students to complete Unit Surveys for the second semester and also Phase 2 of the Student Barometer Survey.
Staff in the PSS and Schools are being asked to help promote the campaign to students to help maximise response rates.
Unit Surveys
The name of the Unit Evaluation Questionnaires has been changed to the Unit Survey.
Unit Surveys are part of the University's commitment in 'Towards Manchester 2015' to listen to students and to seek annual improvements in the quality of the teaching and learning they experience.
The process seeks to identify units that achieve high levels of satisfaction so that the staff concerned can be congratulated, and their achievements disseminated for the purposes of enhancement.
The unit survey process is designed to enhance overall levels of student satisfaction, which will be monitored from year to year.
The online Unit Surveys will be available in Blackboard from 30 April to 11 May. Several Schools have chosen to use a paper-based questionnaire in place of the online version.
Student Barometer Survey
In October and November, students were asked to take part in the first phase of the Student Barometer Survey. The aim was to build a comprehensive picture of the many different aspects of student life at Manchester, informing the University’s ambition to provide an outstanding experience.
A wealth of information provided by over 8,000 Manchester students – a fantastic response – is being carefully analysed and over the coming months will be used to inform changes and to make improvements across the University.
But it is also important the views and opinions of our students are collected across the academic year, to check whether their expectations are being met, and whether previously identified good support and service is being maintained.
So once again the University and Students’ Union have teamed up and are asking all Manchester students to 'Tell Us' - by taking the Student Barometer Survey via:
The survey runs until 17 May.
There is a £500 prize for the School with the best response rate and £500 for the School with the most improved response rate, to be spent on enhancing the student experience.
