Wood Street Mission Easter Project 2012

Thanks to everyone who gave Easter eggs and financial donations.
We are writing to pass on our sincerest thanks for your generous gifts of Easter eggs and financial donations towards this year’s Easter Project. This really was a fantastic collection and Wood Street received over 900 Easter eggs, as well as financial donations, from The University of Manchester this year.
Over 700 families are already booked in for help with eggs and Wood Street will start giving out Easter treats in mid-April and will continue to book in families right up until the Easter holidays. Last year, over 6,000 Easter Eggs were distributed to 1,613 children, all of whom are affected by poverty, and that number is expected to increase this year. Wood Street has also given a food hamper to each of the 673 families referred for help at Easter, to help them through the extended school holidays.
Our contribution to their work really will make a huge difference to these local families and will help Wood Street to continue offering this free assistance. The families themselves remain very grateful for the help they receive and so it is on their behalf that Wood Street Mission thanks you all for your contributions to this year’s project and your continuing support.
Wood Street supports families throughout the year with clothing parcels, baby equipment and bedding, as well as offering a school uniform package at the beginning of the school year.
