Engagement@Manchester: New monthly events exploring public engagement
15 Mar 2012
Wednesday 21 March (12.30-1.30pm) in Room 3.204, University Place.
This is the first in a new series of monthly lunchtime events to explore different aspects of public engagement. here is a wealth of expertise across the University in this field and we are running these free events to help us share our ideas and experiences. All are welcome.
Who is it for?
All University of Manchester staff and students are welcome to attend and find out more about exciting opportunities. Everyone is welcome – no experience in public engagement is needed. We are keen to encourage new people to take their first steps in public engagement, as well as support those with more experience.
When and where is it happening?
First event is being held on Wednesday 21 March (12.30pm – 1.30pm) in Room 3.204 in University Place. This event will be exploring Engagement@Festivals and you will hear from people who took part in Manchester Histories Festival, Manchester Literature Festival and Manchester Science Festival.
Each event will explore a different theme and will be held monthly (during term).
What will happen?
A few speakers will present short case studies to give a taster of what they have worked on with plenty of time for discussion. You will hear about upcoming opportunities to get involved and you will have chance to have your say too. We will ask to hear your suggestions for topics for future events and if you’re keen to present to the group – let us know.
There’s no need to book - just turn up!
Tea and coffee will be provided, but please bring your lunch along with you.
