Introduction of the new Project Finance service
02 Feb 2012
This new web-based application will support researchers in the financial management of external research grants and contracts.
As part of the programme to improve the staff online experience and continuing work of the Review of Research Finance and Administration Implementation (RORFA) we are pleased to announce the delivery of Project Finance - a new web-based application which will support researchers in the financial management of external research grants and contracts.
The Project Finance service will allow Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators and their project managers to monitor financial transactions within their portfolios of projects, without the need to request specific reports from support staff. As well providing summaries of expenditure, budgets and commitments to date at overall and task level, the system also allows ‘drill down’ to individual transaction level. All results can be exported to Microsoft Excel.
The service is accessed via a link in the Teaching and Research tab of My Manchester and will allow expenditure against research grants and contracts to be managed and monitored in a more timely and effective manner.
Project Finance is a product that has been delivered by the Research Support work stream which forms part of the programme to improve the staff online experience.
Further details on Project Finance (including step by step instructions) can be found in the Project Finance Handy Guide on the Programme website.
Additionally, as part of the wider programme to help improve online working at the University, we are looking for staff and PGR student volunteers to take part in surveys, focus groups and demonstrations. If you would be interested in joining us, please register your interest at:
