Explore how to use social media to benefit your research on 12 January 2012 (10am-4pm) in Liverpool.
Audience: Postgraduate researchers, research staff and academic staff
Are you making the most of new technologies in your research and career?
The way in which researchers work, communicate and collaborate is changing. To help you stay ahead of the game, this one-day workshop will explore how the use of Web 2.0 can benefit your research, your networks and your profile.
By attending this workshop you will get hands-on experience with a range of social media tools and techniques including the following areas:
- Avoiding information overload and keeping on top of the literature in your field
- Facilitating research collaboration and discussion
- Virtually extending research conferences and seminars
- Managing your online communication and profile
You will also be given the opportunity to share experiences and issues with peers from across the North West and create a personal strategy for engaging with social media.
