Science Festival Trailblazers come to The University of Manchester

Did you know over 150 researchers from across the University are taking part in the Manchester Science Festival 2011?
The Festival officially starts on 22 October, but you can get involved in a range of science related activities right now. Here's just some of the trailblazer events our researchers are involved in:
- Images of Research Photography Competition – the shortlist has been announced! See the exhibition at the John Rylands Library, Deansgate or vote online via the Science Spectacular website. (Public vote opens 3 October)
- BBC Radio 4's The Infinite Monkey Cage, featuring Professor Brian Cox (14 October)
- Biomedical Imaging: Where Physics and Medicine Meet (17 October)
- A Stroke of Bad Luck: Understanding Brain Disease - a star lecture from Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell (18 October)
- Using Chemistry to Discover New Medicine and Improve Lives (20 October)
During the Festival week (22-30 October) you can also find out why Computers Rock our Music Word, take part in public debates – Fukishima and the future nuclear energy, Field of Genes: using DNA testing to find future Olympic champions. Get involved in a live weather and climate podcast with The Barometer or join us for the Manchester Science Spectacular – interactive science fun for all the family. There really is something for everyone at this year's Manchester Science Festival!
