Research Computing Courses: October-December 2011

IT Services for Research is running its popular series of courses aimed at staff and postgraduates who run computer simulations as part of their research.
These courses are free to all University researchers and are aimed at passing on skills to help with the computational aspect of research.
There are spaces on the following courses (all one-day except where noted):

- Introduction to MATLAB - 10am-5pm, 12 October 2011
- Programming Techniques for Research Computing - 10am-1pm, 13 October 2011
- Introduction to Scientific Visualization - 10am-4pm, 18 October 2011
- Introduction to Avizo/Amira 10am-4pm, 20 October 2011
- Fortran 95 - 10am 25th to 5pm, 26 October 2011 (i.e. two full days)
- Programming in MATLAB - 10am-5pm, 3 November 2011
- Intro to Parallel Programming Using OpenMP and MPI - 10am-5pm, 15 November 2011
- High Throughput Computing using Condor - 10am-4pm, 17 November 2011
- Shared Memory and Multicore Programming with OpenMP - 10am-5pm, 22 November 2011
- Parallel Computing using the Message Passing Interface, MPI - 10am-5pm, 29 November 2011
- Image Based Modelling Using Finite Elements - 10am 8th to 5pm, 9 December 2011 (ie 2 full days)
