Mercia Stem Cell Alliance event
06 Dec 2011
The Mercia Stem Cell Alliance (MSCA) will be holding its second Annual Scientific Meeting on Monday 19 December 2011 (10am-5.30pm) at University Place, Oxford Road.
The meeting is co-organised by Professor Sue Kimber (Faculty of Life Sciences, UoM) and Professor John Frampton (University of Birmingham).
The first meeting, held in Birmingham on 13 September 2010, was a great success with 150 delegates from universities across the region, as well as industrial and NHS partners, in attendance.
The MSCA represents the interests of a number of academic groups across Manchester, Birmingham, Lancaster, Liverpool, Keele and Nottingham in embryonic and adult stem cell research, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
We are also pleased to have representation from key players in industry, including Astrazeneca, Intercytex, Gentronix, Epistem, Advantage West Midlands and Neuregenix, and the NHS, which will enable us to further our translational goals as we address the major issues impacting on this phase of the development of stem cell in vitro models and therapies.
