The details for the April Blackboard 9 workshops are as follows:
Blackboard Kick Start: Exemplary Course Design
Date: Tuesday 19 April 2011
Time: 9.30am to 12.30pm
Location: Training Room 3, Kilburn Building
Pre-requisite: Attendance on the User Essentials or similar Blackboard 9 training course and an activated BB9 course or playground space
This half-day session looks at the following topics:
- Components for designing high-quality and innovative courses
- Effective course navigation and content organisation
- Enhancing the student experience with interactive content
Blackboard Kick Start: Collaboration and Communication
Date: Tuesday 19 April 2011
Time: 1.30pm to 4.30pm
Location: Training Room 3, Kilburn Building
Pre-requisite: Attendance on the User Essentials or similar Blackboard 9 training course
This half-day session looks at the following topics:
- Supporting Student Interaction
- Create, manage, and grade Blogs, Journals and Wikis
- Managing Groups
These workshops are advanced training sessions intended for staff who have had some experience of working in the Blackboard 9 environment. Participants should have attended the Blackboard User Essentials course or a similar course delivered by the eLearning Teams. At a minimum, participants should have experience of adding course content; creating a Discussion Board forum; and building, deploying, and grading assignments and tests in Blackboard.
