AUA Professional Development Opportunities in March and April 2011
22 Feb 2011
One-day workshop in London (3 March) and Annual Conference and Exhibition at Nottingham (18-20 April)
Personal and professional development: Planning (and enjoying) the journey
Date: 3 March 2011, 10am to 4pm
Venue: Park Crescent Conference Centre, London
There is a strong business case to be made for professional development but with funding tight it has become increasingly important for everyone to take personal responsibility for their own development. As HE goes through a period of unprecedented turmoil and change it is imperative that each individual ensures they are equipped to take their place in the agile, responsive and adaptable workforce of the future.
This day workshop will guide participants through a process of self analysis of their development needs, explore a range of tools to support development, consider personal motivation and start to generate personal action plans. Participants will be encouraged to align personal and organisation development priorities, and to become comfortable with giving and receiving appropriate professional challenge. There will be a strong emphasis on preparing for, and embarking on, an exciting and rewarding development journey which balances systematic, purposeful development planning with a determination to enjoy the process.
Price: AUA Members £245, Non-members £340
