The University of Manchester recognises three trade unions as partners. If you are interested in joining a union, you can find details of the University branches online:

• Unison - for a whole range of staff covered by clerical/secretarial and manual conditions.
• University and College Union (UCU) - for academic and academic related staff, including lecturers, researchers, experimental officers, administrative officers, more senior library and computing staff and postgraduate students who are paid to undertake teaching duties.
• Unite - for professional people throughout the support staff: technicians, crafts people, IT and security.
