PSAPPHA - The University of Manchester’s Contemporary Ensemble in Residence
‘Beat the Rush Hour’ on Friday 28 January at 5pm with Psappha, widely regarded as one of the UK’s most important contemporary music ensembles of the last twenty years.
The programme opens with the premiere performances of new works by composition students Jae Hong Lee and Soojung Park alongside Camden Reeves Nanomia Cara for solo flute. It culminates with Boulez’ s seminal work Le marteau sans maître (The hammer without a master) featuring the young Welsh contralto Hilary Summers, conducted by Nicholas Kok, Psappha’s Principal Conductor and Artistic Adviser.
