Student Team Working Awards
17 Jan 2011
Submissions invited from groups of three or more UG, PGT or PGR students
Submissions are now open for the 13th Annual Student Team Working Awards.
The awards, sponsored by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, are an opportunity to recognise and reward the importance of student team work at the University. Students (UG, PGT or PGR) who have completed a group project (involving three or more students) are eligible to enter in either, or both, the Curricular and Extra-Curricular categories. There are cash prizes of £500, £250 and £150 in each category.
The Awards provide a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on the experiences, high and lows, and, benefits of team work.
In previous years, successful submissions in the Curricular category have included a project (within the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) to reduce domestic energy usage, a ‘new business start up’ by Textiles students and the running of post-graduate research conference. Extra-Curricular successes include: organising a global ‘go-kart’ race to support Cancer Research UK, setting up and running a food service for the homeless in Manchester and participating in the Marshall International Case Competition (run by the University of Southern California).
There is truly scope for all projects to enter.
Applications need to be submitted by Wednesday 2 March 2011 and forms can be downloaded from:
