Diversity in the Workplace Training

Now available to students from Equality and Diversity Office

The University has recently launched an on-line diversity training module for students. This follows a very successful staff module – launched in 2008 and advertised on the STDU website.

Staff with responsibility for students are encouraged to share the information below from Paul Marks-Jones:

The training is part of a wider agenda to provide all students with the necessary training and guidance that will serve to assist the University in the prevention of discrimination and the promotion of diversity.

The module is intended to help students become familiar with equalities legislation; gain an understanding of the broader issues of equality and diversity; and to know their responsibilities and rights as a student of the University.

Training of this kind is imperative if we are to take the steps required to meet our legislative requirements and continue to build a working environment that truly values diversity.

This module is not compulsory however we are asking all students to take the time to complete this module as soon as possible.
