Manchester Science Festival: Rutherford’s Lights: an Adventure in Sound and Science
Saturday 23 October, 6pm
The Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall, The Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama
Richard Casey - piano
Imagine a ‘light show’ in sound! Conjure the possibility of all those black and white keys being transformed into all the colours and effects of a rainbow; of water and light shattering and of making a piano sound iridescent. From start to finish, Rutherford’s Lights is music that does just that and more!
Composed by Edward Cowie and performed by Richard Casey. The evening will be introduced by Richard Casey.
This concert forms part of the Manchester Science Festival which is an annual nine-day, multi-venue festival. It is Manchester’s premier event for public engagement with science and engineering, promoting the region’s rich heritage of past scientific achievements and endeavours.
Admission FREE but advance booking is essential.
