Policies on the Policy Framework, Contracts Governance and Information Governance introduced
The Board of Governors approved a number of new policies in July 2010. These have been added to the policies area of StaffNet and are now operational.
A Policy Framework document has been introduced (a policy on policies). This has been brought forward to strengthen the University's policy framework and it outlines clear processes for the review and agreement of policy. It is directed at staff members responsible for policies and their review and development. Martin Conway in the Governance Office will be working directly with policy owners to follow-up and support the Policy's introduction and ensure that all of our policies are presented clearly and communicated effectively.
A Contract Governance Policy has been introduced. The purpose of this policy is to record the University’s procedures and responsibilities in relation to entering into, and compliance with, contracts. All University staff are required to comply with it.
The Information Governance Policy of the University has been revised. This replaces The University of Manchester’s previous Data Protection Policy, Freedom of Information Policy and Records Management Policy, and applies to all staff. The Policy sets out the broad principles by which the University seeks to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004 and to manage its records.
