Heating in University buildings
27 Sep 2010
The Directorate of Estates as of today have begun the process of re-introducing heating into buildings
Due to the scale and nature of the district heating system required to provide heat to the whole campus this process does take some time and the exact date for receiving heat will vary on a building by building basis. As a result of on-going building works some delays are expected in receiving heat to the Students Union Building, along with some parts of the Samual Alexander Building and the John Rylands Library. These buildings will be added to the process from Monday 4 October.
It is quite common when re-engaging a district heating system following the summer shutdown to experience some minor problems and Estates staff will be working hard to ensure that these are rectified at the earliest opportunity and that impact to Staff and Students is minimised.
We thank you in anticipation for your co-operation.
