Manchester academic honoured by Academy of Social Sciences

A Professor of Education at The University of Manchester has been given a prestigious award by the Academy of Social Sciences.
Helen Gunter and is one of a handful of researchers to become one of the Society’s Academicians each year.
Academicians are distinguished scholars and practitioners both within the public and private sectors and are appointed by the Academy.
Professor Gunter’s main research interest is in the modernisation of education as policy and practice at national and local levels.
She is particularly interested in knowledge production within the field of educational leadership, with research that examines the relationship between the state, public policy and knowledge.
The Academy's mission is to promote social sciences in the United Kingdom and most of the UK’s Learned Societies in the Social Sciences are represented within its ranks.
