Payroll restructure announcement

New structure implemented from 1 September

With effect from 1 September 2010, a new structure has been implemented within the Payroll section.

• Patrick Lynch joined the University on an interim basis and his role is Head of Payroll Services – Patrick will drive through the new structure and is currently recruiting to vacancies within the team. He can be contacted at patrick.lynch-2@manchester.ac.uk or 61617.
    
• Lisa Boylin and Ben Henshall have been appointed to their new roles of Operational Payroll Managers with effect from 1 September.
  
  Lisa and her team will lead the core Payroll operation for all areas of the University. Lisa can be contacted at lisa.boylin@manchester.ac.uk or 52128.
  
  Ben and his team will lead the noncore Payroll operation, which includes payment for Fees & Expenses, Pensioners payroll, casuals and bureau services. Ben can be contacted at ben.henshall@manchester.ac.uk or 52151.

The change will drive through efficiencies within the department and, over the coming months Patrick, Lisa and Ben will implement radical changes to improve the process and service provided to their customers. As part of this change, they will review policies and procedures and streamline the receipt of data into the department. They will work closely with other departments, schools and faculties to ensure that everyone is aligned and familiar with any new processes.
