Woman of Letters: Elizabeth Gaskell's autograph collection and Victorian celebrity

This lecture, given by Dr Pamela Corpron Parker of Whitworth University, USA, will explore how Gaskell accumulated and shaped her autograph collection in order to situate herself among an elite community of nineteenth-century British writers.

Gaskell's autograph books are held in the Library's collection and will be on public display for the evening.
