Chancellors Hotel team will operate Bistro from 1 August

Christie’s, the popular lunchtime Bistro on the first floor of Christie Building, will be operated by the University’s Chancellors Hotel and Conference Centre team from 1 August 2010. The existing staff will become part of the Chancellors operation and the new venture will be known as ‘Chancellors at Christie’s Bistro’.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for the Chancellors Team” said Ken Kerr, General Manager of Chancellors. “The food at Chancellors, and our regular ‘Gourmet Evenings’, have enabled us to provide a truly fantastic customer experience, and we can see amazing potential to make Christie’s Bistro, an already popular venue, even better.

"We are aiming to offer University staff a very high quality venue in which to entertain commercial partners, as well as a superb environment in which to enjoy a quality coffee, snack or luncheon.

"In these austere times, with pressure on budgets, it’s also important that the surplus income generated by the operation will now go back into the University and its core goals."

The new Chancellors at Christie’s Bistro menu will feature delicious new dishes as well traditional favourites. A focus on local sourcing of products and showcasing the region’s delicacies will compliment a diverse menu with daily 'specials' to add variety for regular customers.
