Women in IT Group: Event on 9 July

Like to move into IT or already working in IT?
The Women in IT Group was set up in December 2009 with the following aims:
- To provide a networking forum for women at all grades working in IT across the University and those who may want to move to a role in IT
- To provide careers support, advice and mentoring for women seeking careers in IT
- To raise awareness of the range of roles in IT within the University
The membership of the group covers IT staff from IT Services, Faculties, Library, STARS, Careers and a wide range of roles including the Service Desk Manager, Elearning support, Web support, Infrastructure teams, etc.
The group is planning a range of activities with the first event taking place on Friday 9 July, 12.30-2pm.
The purpose of the event is to:
- Promote routes into IT and the range of roles available
- Promote Women in IT Group
- Provide networking opportunities
Programme
- 12.30-1pm Light buffet lunch and networking
- 1-1.45pm Speakers
- 1.45–2pm Open forum

The event is open for all who are interested and is not restricted to women only.

You are welcome to attend the whole event but if you can only attend from 1pm you are still welcome to attend. A full programme and event details will be sent out a couple of days before the event.
