Demonstrations of new learning management system on 15 June
Product specialists from Blackboard will be coming to the campus on Tuesday 15 June to give live demonstrations of the new Blackboard learning management system, to which the University will gradually transition by July 2012.
The sessions will focus on the delivery of courses, assessments and feedback, and collaboration, and staff will have the opportunity to see a range of new features and tools in Blackboard 9 such as:
- anonymous grading
- calculated formulae
- peer review for academic colleagues
- gradable wikis
- the early warning system
- selective release tools that monitor students' engagement with learning materials and activities
- embedding You Tube and Flickr content directly into Blackboard
All staff are invited to attend one of two sessions that have been arranged on the campus; alternatively the demonstration is to be recorded and can be reviewed later by linking to the page:
The same Blackboard 9 demonstration will take place at each of the following venues on 15 June:
- University Place B from 10am - 12 noon (600 capacity)
- Renold D007 from 2pm - 4pm (157 capacity)
