Wood Street Mission: Children's books needed urgently

02 Jun 2010

Mission tours and the winner of the June Lottery draw

In 2009, Wood Street Mission launched its Book Club project, offering families the chance to bring their children along to select some books to read during each of the school holidays. This is Wood Street’s commitment to the Government’s “Every Child a Reader” campaign.

During the Easter holidays, they saw the biggest Book Club to date, with 46 families visiting and choosing books: this included help for 101 children. They have therefore exhausted their supply of children’s books and they now need our help to replenish their stock ready for the next Book Club in June.

If you can help with donations of good quality books your children no longer read, please contact one of the following to arrange collection:

  • Mrs Muriel Shingler on 0161 306 2523
  • Mrs Rose Underwood on 0161 275 2724
