Free public talk on China: "Chinese Students Today"

The Confucius Institute is pleased to offer a free public talk on Chinese Students Today on Tuesday 15 June from 12.45 to 1.30 pm, in Room A102, Samuel Alexander Building. You can expect insightful and practical information. Moreover, you will learn one useful phrase and two characters during the session!
There is an increasing number of Chinese students selecting the UK as their educational destinations, thus they provide an important and stable source of university funding. This talk will explain and analyse Chinese students’ characteristics from multiple angles, socio-politically, educationally and culturally. Some suggestions will also be provided on how to help Chinese students adjust academically and culturally to a very different educational environment.

Information on our speaker:
Dr Xun Zhu was seconded from Beijing Normal University and she received her PhD in the University of Manchester. Her research interests include higher education management, applied linguistics and culture and international communications.
Currently, working as a language tutor in the Confucius Institute, her interest extends to Chinese culture and its relationship with language, society, education and Chinese traditional medicine.
