New email and calendar platform for University staff
26 May 2010
Transfer process will start in the next few weeks
As part of a major service improvement programme, IT Services is upgrading the systems that run the central staff email and calendar services. 40,000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students have already been transferred to a new service with significant features and benefits.
Approximately 16,000 staff and postgraduate research students will be moved onto the new fully integrated email and calendar system, based on the latest Microsoft software. This transfer process will start in the next few weeks and will take several months.
All users, whether Mac, PC or Linux, will see the benefits:
- An improved web interface
- Better mobile access
- A larger mailbox
- Enhanced features to help you manage your email account
With such a large number of staff and student accounts being affected by the move, central and local IT teams are planning the transfers to minimise any disruption to users. As the project progresses, your local IT teams will provide further information on what this means for you.
