Book your place at ‘Research to Enterprise’ event
21 Apr 2010
Music entrepreneur Pete Waterman is just one of the speakers at the event which aims to encourage staff and students to be more enterprising.
Pete will be joined by Professor Richard Walmsley from the Faculty of Life Sciences who founded Gentronix in 1999, a biotechnology company which is helping to accelerate the pace of drug development in the pharmaceutical industry.
Other speakers will include Dr Joanne Tippett from the School of Environment and Development who created Ketso – a hands-on kit for creative groupwork developed in Southern Africa.
The event will be hosted by TV presenter John Craven.
This is the third year the event has taken place and staff and students are encouraged to attend – whether they aim to work in academia, start their own business or work in the not-for-profit or commercial sectors.
The event takes place on Thursday 10 June, starting at 5pm and ending at 7pm in Lecture Theatre B, University Place. The event will be followed by a buffet and drinks in the foyer of University Place.
