Big Bang Science Fair comes to Manchester

Open to general public on Saturday 13 March

The Big Bang Science Fair is taking place from 11 to 13 March in Manchester Central. The aim of the Fair is to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) courses and careers to young people, from Primary school age through to Sixth Form students, their teachers and parents.

Young people will be encouraged to explore different elements of Science through interactive exhibtions, presentations and workshops. Presentations include Sky One's multi award-winning Brainiac which will be live on stage for the very first time and the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures.

The University has a large presence at the Fair with 14 exibitions and presentations delivered by academic staff and postgraduate students on a range of STEM related areas from 'Plants that bite back' to 'Observing the invisible universe'. Other exhibitors include AstraZeneca, Siemens, Rolls-Royce and National Grid.
