Series opens on 23 February with 'Chinese Spring Festival'
You may have noticed the various celebrations of Chinese New Year around you this week. Do you know that Chinese people celebrate the New Year for two weeks until Lantern Festival on 28 February? Do you want to know more about how Chinese prepare and celebrate this festival and discover its traditions, customs and beliefs passed on generation by generation?
The Confucius Institute is pleased to offer a free public talk on the Chinese Spring Festival on Tuesday 23 February from 12.45 to 1.30 pm, in room 5.206, University Place. You can expect insightful and practical information. Moreover, you will learn one useful phrase and two characters during the session!
This is our first talk of the series. There will be one each month covering a wide range of topics on contemporary China, including:
- Chinese Food and Health
- Understanding Chinese Students
- Sino-British Cultural Differences from Perspective of Languages
- Changing Cities
