Tutor vacancy at Oak House

Applications are invited from academic, academic related or research staff or postgraduate students of The University of Manchester for a Residential Tutor post available at Oak House Hall of residence. The post is available from late February 2010 and up to 31 August 2010 in the first instance.
Tutors work as part of the welfare support team in each residence. Duties include assisting in the pastoral care of residents, working with the Residents Association and helping to foster a community spirit. Tutors will be required to be on call during the night and at weekends on a rota basis with other colleagues.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a genuine/active interest in student affairs, individuals must be approachable and sociable, and of a socially responsible disposition, being able to demonstrate appropriate interpersonal skills and an aptitude for team-working and group leadership.
Currently remuneration is given to Tutors in the form of free accommodation. Tutors residing in catered halls are expected to pay for the meal charges applicable for their hall of residence.
