Follow-up to ACAS-facilitated meetings on 5 and 19 October

The most recent ACAS facilitated meetings between the trade unions and the University negotiators took place on 5 and 19 October 2009.

Since then the University has been working with the trade unions towards completing a comprehensive "final agreement" document which includes policies and procedures for appeals, re-grading and rewarding exceptional performance.

There were also some outstanding pay-related terms and conditions which required attention and clarification, and the University has presented its proposals on these matters to the relevant trade unions.

All parties have agreed to meet again as soon as possible for a final time to conclude the detail of a prospective implementation plan and to discuss any further steps necessary to allow the trade unions to ballot their members.

When this meeting has taken place and clear timescales are determined, a further update will follow.
